Back to Finance Glossary | Previous Page

An asset stripper is a term used to describe a corporate raider that takes over a target company in order to sell large assets of the target to repay debt.

The raider calculates that the net, selling off the assets and paying off the debt, will leave the raider with assets that are worth more than what it paid for the target.
