The Federal Open Markets Committee is composed of members of the Federal Reserve Board as well as presidents of the Federal Reserve banks.

The FOMC sets monetary and credit policies for the Federal Reserve System. It also oversees the Reserve's open market operations, which is the Federal Reserves main policy tool.
