This question is meant to test how much you know about the industry. Make sure you know some good reasons to work at either place:
Bulge bracket banks, you can say, have a strong reputation. You look forward to working on larger transactions with larger companies.
At a middle market investment bank, you may get a lot more client exposure early on than you would at a larger bank.
You could say you like working with smaller companies where you're more likely to have a greater impact in their business.
