A currency futures contract is an agreement between a buyer and a seller of foreign currencies representing a promise to deliver a specified currency at a particular price on a specific date in the future.

Currency futures contracts can be used as hedging instruments for organizations wishing to guard against adverse currency fluctuations that may affect a particular transaction.
