A confidential information memorandum (CIM) is a marketing document that describes a business and its financial performance.

Commonly referred to as the "book", the CIM is prepared by investment bankers in a sell-side advisory engagement and distributed to potential financial and strategic buyers after the execution of a non-disclosure agreement.
